OVERVIEW

Background

Holiday season is the time when prices go up.

Brief:

Create a track that supports the idea and feeling of the holiday season.

Objective:

Get the audience to understand there are options to over spending during the holidays.

Execution

We wanted to create a piece of music that encapsulated the Holiday season & its descent into madness in the retail realm. In the latter half of the spot, Aldi appears as an oasis in this sea of retail cutthroat & the music reflects this sea change.

The score was equal parts influenced by Classical Music, 20th century Film scoring, and rock operas. The balance of twinkly holiday instrumentation with suspenseful strings & menacing brass keeps us in season. Finally, a tempo ramp in the music helps convey the amp up in intensity versus having the music get bigger. This allowed our VO to shine & the hilarious visuals to be complimented by sound design.
