We bottled the dirty water and offered it on the streets of NYC for $1. We made a vending machine, branded it “Dirty Water,” filled it with 8 lethal varieties, strategically placed the machine in front of the city's largest natural foods market, in Union Square. We disguised UNICEF volunteers as Dirty Water brand representatives. The one-on-one interaction shocked people by placing the problem, “DIRTY WATER”, directly in their hands. UNICEF volunteers then revealed themselves and their cause to the unsuspecting public, and invited them to help by donating into the machine, via text message (SMS), or online.
