OVERVIEW

Execution

With The Big Internet Museum we provide a service for the Internet community. It is directly created for consumers from all over the world. Moreover it's an ode to all the Internet pioneers out there. We also created the museum to create buzz for our advertising agency.

The Big Internet Museum became a reality thanks to the biggest digital production agency of The Netherlands. It built the museum (desktop and mobile version) from scratch. A digital gift shop for the museum could be the next logical step. Plans for it have been made already.

Outcome

The Big Internet Museum documents and displays the Web’s most interesting artefacts, for now and for future generations. We created a platform and in the future want to be an institute, dedicated to the Internet and its remarkable graphic interface: the World Wide Web.

We received 79.000 unique visitors in the opening week alone, with an average stay in the museum of 2.30 min. And we got widespread coverage on TV, radio, magazines, newspapers. Local and international. About 40 Tweets about the museum were published every minute in this first week, mostly thanks to the ‘donate a Tweet’ functionality in the museum.
