Description
JURA is a small island nestling off the west coast of Scotland. With only 170 inhabitants, It has just one road, one shop, and one distillery. The single malt whisky that's made there is considered to be the lifeblood of the island.
To launch in North America, we wanted to show what life was really like on JURA. Images so real you can almost feel the wild Atlantic spray, or smell the whisky in the air.
We invited National Geographic photographer David Guttenfelder to live there. His only brief was to do what he does best. Integrate into the community and capture life with purity and honesty.
Whatever he bought back would form the basis of our advertising. No one from the agency went with him, guided him, or asked him to cover anything off.
