Background

The Fox Sports App grants access to all of their basic and Premium content without the need of having a cable TV operator, subscribing directly through Google Play or App Store.

"Now on you can follow your passion from wherever you're at".

The downside is that in the past different media brands have promoted this benefit through their apps. We have seen tons of commercials featuring people in different places enjoying their content on different devices.

We needed something fresh, something that would make sport fans see with new eyes something they had been told a thousand times before.

We got in touch with Club Palestino, as they are the only club in the world that has the majority of its fans in another country, and erased the distance between them by making those who are far away cheer for their team live, for the first time ever.

Idea

Palestino has the majority of its fans in Palestine, not in Chile.

The idea was to partner up with them so we could tell that story of love from a distance. We went to find those fans in Palestine, filmed them and brought them back to Chile, virtually, so that for the first time in history they had the chance to support their team live, in Chile, during the game against River Plate, the current Champion.

The thousands of people that went that day to the match shared their seats with the fans that have never shared with, presenting them as a whole. An experience they would never forget.

Strategy

The strategy was to target sport fans with an "old message" in such a fresh way that it would seam new and appealing.

Beforehand, we gave the heads up to all media partners and sport related press about what was going to happen on the 24th of April, during the match against River Plate, the current Champion.

The story was so unique and relatable to that it turned into PR success right away.

Execution

On April 2nd we went to Palestine and filmed fans of Club Palestino watching a Libertadores Cup game.

And on April 24th we "mapped" them at "Monumental Stadium" during the game against River Plate, the current Champion.

Those virtual fans watched the match, reacted to it and even sang. All of it Live, and for the first time in history those who follow the Club from 13,000 kms away, were there.

The brand's message was at the center of it all:

"Passion doesn't know of distances, Fox Sports App neither. Follow your passion wherever you are, subscribe directly through Google Play or App Store. "

Outcome

The people that was reached with the transmission that ONE DAY, equals 21 TIMES the visitors that the museum makes IN ONE YEAR.

#45YearsOfTheCoup was Nº1 Treding Topic that day.

Just on our website, we got an audience from 78 different countries.

Average visit duration to sintonizaconlamemoria.cl of 06:26 minutes.

All national news tv shows featured The Memory Dial as one of the most memorable actions for this 45th anniversary of the coup.

A new bill against negationism and minimization of the crimes committed during the dictatorship is being discussed in the congress.
