Background
Online hate is – unfortunately – universal. It’s something we all deal with, no matter where we come from.
Execution
The film takes the viewer on a journey into the social networking world, jumping in and out of a phone, where we meet our characters. Each of them is alone and vulnerable, at the center of stage-like worlds connected to their personas or the hate comments they received. As the film advances, switching from horizontal to vertical to square formats and back, they don’t only accept the hate comments, but wear mock them as they dance ironically to a calypso version of “I want to be loved by you” by Marilyn Monroe.
