Background

In 2023, Stella Artois entered fully into the world of tennis by sponsoring major Grand Slam tournaments. This partnership raised an intriguing question: how to merge the essence of Stella Artois with the spirit of tennis? The answer lies on clay. Many major ATP tournaments are played on clay courts, the same material used in ceramics.

Just as tennis celebrates the perfect serve or "ace," Stella Artois prides itself on the perfect way to serve our beer in our iconic glass.

Stella Artois invested USD 70,000 in this idea, displaying a trophy during the broadcast of each tournament: the clay goblet.

This same chalice will be produced at the best clay tournaments in the world.

Idea

We combined the Perfect Serve of tennis and Stella Artois into a unique chalice, crafted and hand-molded by a ceramist, using the same clay as the main courts of the ATP Chile Open and the most important clay tournaments in the world.

Strategy

The greatest sporting triumphs of Chileans are in tennis, the first number 1 in the Latin American world is Chilean (Marcelo Rios), 2 Olympic gold medals in tennis and winners of a tennis world cup, that makes fans addicted to this sport, for them we designed this chalice that today is even sold in ecommerce sites at 5 times its price.

Execution

We gathered clay from the courts and, in collaboration with a ceramist, used the material to shape and manufacture a special edition of our ceramic chalice. One that was available at the same championship and awarded to players who achieved the best serve in each match.

Outcome

- Sold out in 1 day (more than 3000 chalice).

- resold on the internet for 5 times its original price.
