It’s human nature to take the path of least resistance, to follow those who have been there before. As a result one can end up living as if every aspect of their life was pre-scripted for them.

We see this brought to life in Carl’s world. Literally everyone is reading off of a script. Through work, play and social events our hero is trapped in this world. But when his wife pulls up in an all-new Audi Q3, he is inspired to throw away the script.
