Description
The Silent Goal was a live event, set in the Centenario Stadium, previous to the last uruguayan match in World Cup Quilifiers. More than 50.000 people participated of the idea, and almost everyone in Uruguay saw it live through TV Channels.
The Silent Goal was broadcasted nationally on TV previous to the match and the most important News Programs covered the Goal Shout live in all the National Channels.
Execution
The 20th November, just an hour before Uruguay-Jordania, the Centenario Stadium received Alcides Ghiggia (86 years old) and 50.000 fans shouted with him the most important goal in uruguayan history.
The event lasted 10 minutes, but the repercusions before and after the goal travelled around the country and the globe.
Outcome
The stadium was full. 50,000 fans shouted the goal in Centanario Field. The event was also broadcasted for free by every Uruguayan TV channel. So, at least a million people experienced the action live. The Silent Goal was also a press success, before and after the event, thousands of news pieces about the idea were developer by radios, newspapers, websites and TV programs. Nationally, it was a huge success. Internationally, it was covered by the press in more than 50 countries.
