Description
Iberia Plus asked us to do something special to celebrate achieving 6,000,000 customers. So after issuing 5,999,999 cards, we decided to do something different with this card that came next. This is why we created The SixMillion Card, a card that wasn't just anyone’s card, but everyone’s card.
A card that was one of a kind, with something that made it very different from all the other cards in the world: it had no holder. It could be used by anyone who needed it to make an important journey that they couldn’t afford.
Execution
So we took this one-of-a-kind card and put it in a website, tarjetaseismillones.com, so that anyone could view it, request it or donate their Avios.
A few weeks later, thanks to these Avios, the SixMillion Card was making journeys a reality for people who couldn’t have travelled without it: Fabio flew to Cuba to celebrate his grandfather’s 100th birthday, Carmen flew to Peru to see condors in the wild and Álvaro travelled the states along U.S. Blues Route.
Outcome
One month after launching the campaign, the card had already accumulated more than 160,000 Avios and more than 10,000 people had requested to use it.
