Background

IG Trading is one of the largest trading platforms in the world but relatively new and unknown in Sweden, where they wanted to attract and engage the most successful traders to start trading on IG's platform.

We had a very small budget and a target group that is both picky and hard to reach. But we knew that they like to compete, they like to be acknowledged, and they like unique items.

Therefore traders were invited to use their trading graph to compete for one of three unique Trading Rings. Embossed with their particular graphs. Handed out to them as a reward for their craft within the work trading.

Idea

To celebrate the craftmanship of trading we created a ring.

A handmade piece of jewelry, reflecting the ups and downs of the past year.

Custom made, and handed out to the top three performing traders in Sweden.

Embossed with each person's unique graph. Immortalizing their exact path to success.

Execution

The ring was made in silver in two parts.

First the ring itself was made in a 1mm thin silver plate in the desired size.

The second part was the graphene itself which was sawn out of a similar silver plate.The graphene was threaded onto the first ring and soldered together to form a ring.

At the highest point of the graphene, a small green diamond was set.

The ring is filed, sanded, polished and buffed to give the silver the highest shine.

The word about the rings was then communicated through a film in social media.

Outcome

The aim was to use an unexpected and relevant product to have a broad impact on the target group and get both existing and new customers to send in their graphs to compete for the ring.

Over 200 established traders took part in the competition. And the contestants had a higher than average value. This means that the competition gave us the opportunity to communicate with an important target group on a regular basis.
