OVERVIEW

Description

This is Bears Ears was designed to showcase the uniqueness of this beautiful region through comprehensive VR, Stitched Pano and 2D videos through the lense of sport and cultural history. Our website and a partnership with Google, allow users to explore and learn about the region in the closest approximation of actually being there. Our partnership with Google allowed us to get access to their new Google Earth Studio which helped us build a more immersive experience. The idea was to draw attention to this region and build support for the preservation and protection of Bears Ears for generations to come.

Execution

This is Bears Ears is a website experience that hosts 360 video, stitched pano photography, and 2D video. The contents include rich cultural information, diverse sport content and the ability to take action through, phone, social and email, to contact local and state officials in order to advocate for protection of this spectacular corner of southeastern Utah.

Outcome

- Total Unique Page view: 1.3 Million

- Actions taken on our platform by advocates: 402,908 (1 out of every 3 people who engaged took action)

- Comments during an Open Comment Period to the Gov’t: 152,175
