OVERVIEW

Execution

Transform Grand Central Station:We took one of New York’s most iconic, but design-deficient landmarks, Grand Central Station, and set out to transform it. We brought in world-famous designer Jonathan Adler, the show’s head judge, to re-imagine the 42nd Street Shuttle platform as a blank canvas for his high-end design aesthetic. Adler transformed this dreary stretch of steel and concrete by placing a series of chic sitting areas around the space, effectively putting the “Grand” back in Grand Central.

Outcome

A Big Premiere:The stir we created managed to attract 1.7 million viewers to the premiere episode of Top Design, which was a 227% increase over the network’s time-period average from the year prior. We were the third most-viewed cable program amongst A18-49 for the night, a huge accomplishment for cable’s 35th-ranked network.
