Taking inspiration from an interesting fact from our Client's BBC Human Planet TV series; we installed this 1.5-meter tall, 22-meter long ice sculpture in a popular, upmarket shopping center's outdoor square.The ice sculpture was manufactured in Cape Town and transported over 1000 kilometers by refrigerated truck to Sandton, Johannesburg - in separate pieces.In the early hours of a Johannesburg summer's morning an ice sentence - reading "In the Sahara your body loses 1L of water an hour." was hastily erected in in time for the weekend visitors to Nelson Mandela Square to stroll by.The ice letters melted over the course of the day; but before they collapsed they got more attention than the square’s usual tourist attraction – a two-story brass statue of Nelson Mandela.
