Description

The campaign started with a truck that we filled with thousands of blood bags. The exact amount of blood bags Brazil could have if it wasn’t for the law. We took the truck to the streets carrying an important message printed on its side: “Brazil wastes more than a truck full of blood every day due to prejudice”. On our website, people could join an online donors queue. A digital way to demonstrate how much people would actually become donors if the law didn’t exist.

Execution

The campaign started off led by an outdoor stunt, the wasted blood truck. We also had a website in which gay men from all around the world could show their support by joining our online donors queue. A queue of possible donors waiting for the law to change so they can donate blood in Brazil. All integrated with PR so we could get as much media coverage as possible.

Outcome

Over 100.000 people joined our online donors queue. Numbers are increasing every day.

People from over 100 countries joined the discussion we sparked off.

Featured in Brazil’s most important media channels.

Supported by celebrities and fully embraced on social media.

With all the discussion, we’re now one step closer to justice:

A court hearing stared the process to change this law and allow gay men to donate blood in Brazil.
