Description
Manchester Art Gallery is a beautiful, romantic setting in which to get married. They also perform civil partnerships. Our task was to tell people about this in a contemporary and non-stereotypical way that would engage those from any sexual orientation who may be contemplating commitment.
Execution
Using a simple fold, and a paintbrush as a visual metaphor, we were able to show a heterosexual couple, and then reveal a pair of same sex couples on the same piece of paper. This was sent out as direct mail – handed out at wedding fairs – and left as a flyer in bridal shops and clothes shops in Manchester’s gay village.
Outcome
The flyers were distributed in early December 2007. To date (March 2008) they have helped to generate an additional 23% in bookings.
