Description

Sport Chek’s Olympic brand campaign uncovers what It takes to not only make the Canadian Olympic Team, but also to compete against the planet in front of a billion onlookers.

One 60-second anthem spot and six 30-second films were created to showcase the hard work and sacrifice Canadian Olympians put into their sport. In filming the series, we wanted to put the viewer inside the world of the athlete. Close-up shots were used to capture the intensity of their training, while wide shots helped to illustrate their sense of isolation and solitude. A follow-cam was also used to trail an athlete off a 30-foot jump, putting the viewer inside the shoes of an Olympic snowboarder.

Portraits, graphic stills and old footage were layered into each film to add texture and depth to our story. While natural lighting was utilized throughout the films to keep the feeling dramatic but authentic to their world.
