To begin with, TELUS asked their Facebook fans one simple question: “If you could give anything to anyone, what would you give?” The response was overwhelming, prompting TELUS to reach out and surprise their fans with the chance to actually give their gift, capturing footage along the way.
After generating a series of films, TELUS again relied on their social media platforms to share the stories. Through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, fans and non-fans were able to follow, interact, and share videos and stories.
Outcome
In two short weeks during the busiest time of the year, TELUS received a 99% positive response with over 100,000 video views, 19,410 shares and likes, 21 million impressions, and 32,852 new Facebook fans. They also garnered buzz from various media outlets including the Vancouver Sun, CTV News, BuzzFeed, and Reddit.
