Overview

Background

Cat Stevens’ era-defining album, Tea For The Tillerman was created following a decade defined by war and protest. In 2020, to mark the 50th anniversary, the influential singer/ songwriter recorded a new version of the album. The video was to reflect the song's message of environmental responsibility.

Idea

Reflecting the song's message of environmental responsibility, the video for 'Where Do The Children Play' was created using plastic sourced entirely from a beach clean.

Strategy

90% of all props and scenery were made from recycled and upcycled materials to minimise production impacts on the environment wherever possible.

Execution

The director and his team sourced the materials for the video from a beach clean in South Wales, transforming the otherwise landfill-bound materials into an entire set over a six week shoot.

Outcome

Released on YouTube, the video and BTS making of have so far been viewed over 1.2 million times.
