Description

Immunization is one of the most powerful tools for health. More than 1.5 million children under the age of five die from diseases that could be prevented because many parents don’t adhere to national immunization schedules. This poses a serious health risk to children and results in increased healthcare costs worldwide. To increase adherence, WHO wanted a mobile tool to serve as an immunization reminder app, digitalizing the paper-based immunization records. The app enables parents to keep track of past and future immunizations and create a personal plan that is aligned with national immunization schedules. Easily localized by local health authorities around the world, the app is a truly global, yet local and cost-efficient solution that helps WHO take immunization practice to the next level and keep children healthy by keeping their parents informed.

Execution

The app code is generic to accommodate different languages and national immunization schedules. This allows national health authorities to tailor and brand the app in an easy and cost-efficient way, making it a truly low budget, high impact solution. The app is a global, yet local solution that helps WHO take immunization practice to the next level and keep children healthy by keeping their parents informed. In a category of its own, the app shows how digital services can shape the world of pharma practice and marketing, and more importantly help improve the health of children worldwide.

Outcome

Unfortunately we can’t share any results from this at this point.

We just know that the solution is made available in more than 100 countries around the world. Of course the results count – but the main thing about this is the idea and potential. We don’t have the numbers yet - the numbers are reported locally – and WHO hasn’t made them available yet - and probably not gathered all of them yet. We have developed the masterplatform – for local implementation in more than 100 countries.
