Description
Sternburg is East Germany’s most popular beer: Loved by down-to-earth people for its low price.. It is not a premium beer and is not served in any bar. Therefore Sternburg is mostly sold at 24h shops and drunk right on the streets of Berlin. We found an innovative solution for a pleasant drinking enjoyment. (Public drinking is part of the city’s scenery, no alcohol restrictions.)
Execution
For budgetary reasons Sternburg never advertises on billboards, but simply fly-posted posters on the sides of electricity boxes. We developed posters printed with patterns of tablecloth and placed them on top of electricity boxes in the crowded streets of Berlin. That’s how 450 posters turned electricity boxes cosy bar tables.
Outcome
Our innovative idea to use posters as tablecloth on top of electricity boxes was a low-budget and effective media solution. Unlike common posters on the sides of electricity boxes, our posters weren’t pasted over by others. Our Wild Posted Beer Bars increased sales in the area by 12.6% during the two month promotion period. And caught the attention of new target groups.
