Description

Create the enchanting experience of walking along a New York City sidewalk and getting lost in the magically detailed window displays.

Execution

Our site takes users on a walk through New York City at the holidays, admiring the city's most iconic store windows. The immersive 360° experience transports viewers to NYC through a browser or VR headset, with optional audio commentary to shed light on the painstaking work behind each display.

Each window display was captured with hundreds of individual high-resolution still photographs. We created an algorithm allowing us to stitch these still images into a seamless interactive panograph, at a resolution typically not seen online. With every step along the sidewalk, design elements in some windows animate and appear to come to life. Viewers can stroll by each retailer’s display and even "press their face to the glass" to explore the amazing details.

Outcome

The site launched to wide acclaim from the online community and press, ranging from business and tech outlets Fast Company, Engadget and Mashable, to fashion and tourism outlets Condé Nast and Travel+Leisure, with broadcast coverage by CBS and CNET. Campaign coverage amounted to over 40 press stories and 79MM impressions on social media. 1.2MM consumers viewed the site in the first 3 weeks after launch, spending an average 3:25 mins engaged with the experience.
