OVERVIEW

Description

This content was created for the web, so there were not any restrictions imposed, other than to ensure that any features of the Windows Phone represented in the content were actual features available on the phone.

Execution

The indie band chosen for the video, Gentleman Hall, has a growing following, so Twitter, Facebook and their live concerts were used to inform audiences about the video. Fans then shared it on YouTube with others and it spread from there.

Outcome

The clients, Microsoft Windows Phone consumer marketing team, were thrilled with the results. Their target to hit was 430,000 views on YouTube for total success. Currently, the video has 653,936 views as of 3/8/2012, and is still growing at a rapid pace. Our goal was to target women 18-35, but we realised that our video was also well received by generations whose ages range from 45 to 64. The band, Gentlemen Hall won a VMA for Best Breakout Boston Artist 2011 and our video was no.1 on YouTube's daily trend on Friday January 20th, 2012. Furthermore, our video has been shortlisted for the Webby Awards.
