Description
Apple’s “Shot on iPhone 6” World Gallery launched globally in March of 2015. The campaign energized a movement with featured photographers creating their own social community and traveling the world to find their photos in situ. To celebrate and honor these amazing photographers, we designed a hard cover book - a white linen embossed case containing two volumes: one displaying all photos featured in the World Gallery, and the second volume showing the gallery in the world. We wanted the book to mirror Apple's sleek and elegant design aesthetic while beautifully displaying the work of each photographer. The book is designed with a simple grid that allows for a variety of image dimensions, putting all the focus on the beautiful photography.
Execution
The book was designed in the vernacular of an exhibition book. A hard book case containing two volumes: one displaying all photos featured in the World Gallery, as well as a second volume showing the gallery in the world.
The photographer’s books each came with a hand-placed bookmark showing the location of their image spread in the book, along with white gloves to ensure the book was handled with care.
Outcome
Many iPhone photographers around the world who were gifted with the book tweeted their gratitude towards apple.
