Background

This is the official website of “Yamauchi No.10 Family Office” launched by the Yamauchi family, the founding family of Nintendo Co., Ltd. It is a road movie of the Yamauchi family.

To objective of this website is to nurture the Yamauchi family brand. Understanding and empathy for Yamauchi No.10 Family Office. This website is essentially targeted on investment destinations and funds, mainly in Japan, Yamauchi family, Nintendo stakeholders. The Yamauchi Family Office has a strong will and a sense of mission that is not ostensible. We aim to clarify and communicate the background that led them to take this course of action and to show that the Yamauchi family will continue this line for generations to come.

Idea

Since the aim was to convey the mission of Yamauchi No.10 Family Office, A road movie-based presentation was adopted. Within, is a story that portraits the long journey of the Yamauchi family emphasizing the inherited spirit. There are times where things are calm and peaceful, but that are also times where everything is just chaotic. Nevertheless, that does not stop Yamauchi family from taking on challenges with a playful attitude. This is then compiled into sharp messages and visuals that unravel the background of the Yamauchi family which specifically convey what has been inherited and their mission for the future.

As a result, the site became a trending topic within multiple social platforms both domestically and internationally. It was praised for its powerful messages and unusual approach to web design and craftmanship. Users were able to relate with the playful spirit of Yamauchi family, Nintendo founding family. In order to enhance the experience, a cheerful rhythmic tune was also added. Some may find it difficult to read, so a simple view of the message was also implemented. This site represents the Yamauchi family is unique and bold and wishes to continue this tradition for the following generations.
