Mujeres Latinas en Acción is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid to women who suffer from domestic violence. In order to implement more programmes and help a large enough amount of women, they needed to collect additional funding. It’s for this reason that they requested a radio campaign. However, we first needed our audience to understand that domestic violence goes beyond physical violence; it involves losing control over one’s own decisions and living a life that is oppressed by fear. Only by reflecting this reality could we win the public’s sympathy for our cause and collect donations.

KATHLEEN:Good, very good. And you?WOMAN : Oh I’m really good. Just taking the kids to school.KATHLEEN:Yeah, same here.

WOMAN : And your husband, how is he doing?

KATHLEEN / HUSBAND:He’s doing fine. He’s an amazing husband and dad. I’m a lucky woman.

WOMAN : Oh, that’s great… is he still working at the same place?KATHLEEN / HUSBAND:Yes. He works really hard to give us everything we need.WOMAN : Oh good, and what about you?KATHLEEN / HUSBAND:I’m a happy wife. Everything my husband does is for my own good.WOMAN : Well that’s that’s great... Hey, do you want to grab a coffee? Maybe we could talk?KATHLEEN: Oh, I, I have to run now, maybe next time.
