Right now, 110,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Every 10 minutes someone is added to the waiting list, and 20 people die each day because the organ they need is not donated in time. Becoming an organ donor is necessary; still, it's a tough decision, even more so for teens around sixteen to eighteen years old who are given a choice of whether or not to register as an organ donor when applying for a driver's license. Our challenge was to show this target group that their organs could have an amazing life after their lives. So, to help them decide, for the first time, we changed the tone a bit and raised awareness for the cause in a way that teens like most: with humor.

This project is about the choice between two paths: donate and allow your organs to experience continued life or don’t and doom them to a grave, immovable and terrified until the end. To depict these widely different scenarios, we used real dolls and scenery made out of soft, fuzzy, colorful felt and fabric. This material allows for heavy scenes to appear less gloomy and claustrophobic and the lighter scenes to emphasize the fun.

The grave scenes have lighting that is strong and contrasted with elongated shadows and sharp lines used to give a zombie or vintage movie horror atmosphere.

The happy scenes have a mix of diffuse and point lighting to bring color and openness. The goal is to provide a strong contrast between the two choices.

The entire poster shows the box, with each scene in a separate compartment. This enhances the tactile and toy-like quality of the project.
