OVERVIEW

CampaignDescription

For two decades, creating interactive video has been a laborious, expensive process dominated by technologists, not creatives.

What if you change that? What if you built a platform that let you create professional-quality, engrossing multimedia experiences with no coding required, at a fraction of what custom work now cost?

And what if you made it so simple anyone could use it?

That was the idea.

Execution

In 2011, two veteran visual journalists with backgrounds in fine arts and video gaming, had grown fed up with the state of the art in online storytelling. Great work was being produced, but it took an incredible amount of work—and money—effectively shutting out independent storytellers.

They set out to fix that. Five years later, with the help of a small team of media veterans and technologists, they have.

For the first time, thanks to our platform, anyone can create elegant, engaging interactive video inexpensively and quickly — without the help of software developers.

It is an HTML-5 cloud-based platform comprised of a content management system and video player. It works equally well on desktop or mobile device (Android & iOS).

It can be learned in just minutes. Upload media assets into the system and then manipulate them at will — connecting video to video via text links or hotspots, making chapters, developing chose-your-own-adventure style narratives, building video slideshows, or even interactive interviews, where viewers ask questions in the order they want.

No coding is required. Ever.

The resulting work can be viewed anywhere and embedded in almost any web site, or served as a stand-alone video-only microsite.

In the past 6 months, we worked on a number of very successful projects with partners ranging from big consumer brands and internationally-known media companies to indy filmmakers, on topics from Mt. Everest to Flint, Michigan.

We've now opened the tools to the general public. Our hope is to finally fuse the engagement of the Internet with the emotional power of video, and put that ability in the hands of anyone. We can't wait to see what happens next.
