OVERVIEW

Background

The Dandelion movement is growing and getting more and more recognition. Soon, we will have enough members to put pressure on top leaders to start acting and make changes in the world, which will lead to the end of a climate crisis.

So as soon as the changes are implemented, the world will become free of droughts and floods. As a result, the harvests will be big again. And that means farmers with their hands full of work.

Since there’s such a busy time ahead, we want to give them one last chance to catch a breath. That’s why we’ll send them for their last holiday before the big changes.

Describe the creative idea

The Dandelion movement is growing and getting more and more recognition. Soon, we will have enough members to put pressure on top leaders to start acting and make changes in the world, which will lead to the end of a climate crisis.

So as soon as the changes are implemented, the world will become free of droughts and floods. As a result, the harvests will be big again. And that means farmers with their hands full of work.

To communicate there’s a busy time ahead, we’ll send them for their last holiday before the big positive changes.

Describe the strategy

Young adults are concerned about the environment - 67% of Gen Z and 71% of Millenials claim that climate should be the top priority (Gen Z, Millennials stand out for climate change activism, PWR, 2021). But to address their concerns, we need to find a platform that’s familiar to them.

Around 81% of Gen Z and 77% of Millennials play video games regularly (Generations Report, Newzoo, 2021). This data shows that we should spread our message about fighting a climate crisis in a place that’s like a natural habitat to them - digital games.

That’s why we’ll create a collaboration with Farmville 3 - an online game about farming, which is extremely popular, especially among adult women. It has been downloaded more than 10 million times on Google Play. We will use it to make young adults aware of the Dandelion Project and its advantages.

Describe the execution

We will enter into cooperation with Farmville 3 to inform our audience that the end of the climate crisis is coming soon. How we'll tell it? By trolling its players.

Without prior notice, we will disable Farmville 3 for five days, so the users won't be able to play. Instead of the standard UI, during this time they will see a message from the farmer saying "Hi! I'm off. Project Dandelion sent me to on my last holidays." To arouse curiosity, we won't give a reason for the vacation. We will, however, include a link redirecting to the campaign's LP called "The Farmer Last Holidays". There we'll explain that the end of the climate crisis is near, so farmers have a lot of work ahead of them. We will also encourage visitors to accelerate this process by joining The Dandelion community.
