Background

Proyect Dandelion wants to create an easy way for people globally to show the are Dandelions to their friends, community, and the world. But for that, we need to give a voice to the 89% of the people that wants to take action for climate justice but they don't know how or where to start. Because some of those who wants to act, but don't know how are intervening masterpieces of the world's major museums in order to be heard. Unfortunately, the message has not been clear to the majority, and the public focuses more on the artistic damage than on why they are doing it. These isolated actions do not have a substantial impact, but together, as a global community we can make ourselves heard. We can raise the voice of the Dandelions.

Describe the creative idea

We will partner with the world's leading museums to give a voice to all activist in socials, by turning the most iconic paintings in their galleries, into highlight stories on their official instagram profiles, so that any user can intervene to share their message.

This will allow us to identify each participant as a Dandelion, and turn a physical and individual action into a massive digital content to impact the world and reach those who make decisions on the climate crisis. An unpredictable alliance between museums and Dandelions that will put climate justice in conversation.

Describe the strategy

We will take advantage of a controversial situation, to put a positive spin on it, in favor of those involved: the museums and the activists.

Creating a scenario where art fulfills its main reason according to NatGeo: "...expressing the human voice and understanding the world we live in" and activists come together as a digital community in the social network that has grown the most in recent years according to STATISTA, to turn the content into an action that makes their voices visible without affecting the real paintings.

Describe the execution

Previus the COP 30, we will partner with the world's most emblematic museums to jointly develop our “galleries” on their official instagram profiles. To initiate and drive its use, we will use influencers from around the world committed to climate justice to make their voice visible and invite their followers and contacts to do the same. In this way we will seek to generate pressure in networks, so that we will not only give voice to our Dandelions, but we will also tag the leaders who have the power to decide in the face of the climate crisis. After the buzz, we will perform a Social Listening to identify those who took part in the action, becoming Dandelions and inviting them to keep fighting for the climate crisis.
