Background Text

Young people have the superpower to change everything, not just the climate crisis. Unfortunately, they have been passive because they don't know how to start or how to do. So, a tangible solution tool is needed. Finally, we found that the percentage of young people watching video contents by using content platforms increased every year. At the same time, we also found that a simple way to watch content platforms can help change the climate crisis. It can be the superpower to change everything, not just the climate crisis!!!

Describe the creative idea/insights

According to the French environmental organization , watching a streaming video for an hour produces 3.2 kilograms of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of a car driving 12.6 kilometers. This is because tremendous electric power is consumed to cool the massive streaming data centers. Opportunity in crisis. We are able to find a solution in this problem. Streaming at relatively low-quality compared to a high quality video can dramatically reduce carbon footprint from 53 kilograms to 2.5 kilograms in a month. A campaign to watch in low-quality will lead to active participation of young people and practical effects in mitigating the climate crisis. We are going to call this campaign, . The lower video quality, The better climate quality.

Describe the strategy

To get young people actively engaged in the campaign, we looked to Netflix as our media strategy partner. With 145 million young people using Netflix globally, we knew we could drive explosive engagement, and as the No.1 platform with a 45.2% share of global demand for streaming content, we knew we could drive a positive culture of low-quality video viewing. The goal of New Zero World is to encourage young people to watch the in low-quality which we decided to call and make them think that they are participating in climate crisis by simply watching the video.
