OVERVIEW

Background Text

In today's world, men chase confidence through accumulating wealth and tangible assets, believing that material success will fill the void of genuine self-worth. But for this generation, it’s not yachts or cars that captivate their dreams; there’s something else they’re obsessing over: fashion.

Describe the creative idea/insights

Fashion has become a powerful force for Gen Z, with 89% rating it as crucial for boosting their confidence and 82% considering it essential for establishing their identities. Yet, there’s an unspoken truth about the representation and advertisements of men's fashion: Why do clothing stores display diverse female models, while male models remain uniformly super skinny, muscular, and perpetually in their 20s?

At UNSTEREOTYPED, we see an opportunity to challenge these outdated norms. We are introducing: The MANnequins Project - the first open-source library dedicated to authentic representations of men's figures.

These MANnequins, each accompanied by inspiring life narratives, will be freely available for production and use by any brand in the fashion industry.

Describe the strategy

We'll gift the document, featuring prototypes and their inspiring stories, to all brands loved by Gen Z and provide them with online assets to share the stories amongst their online & offline audience.

Then we feature the real stories of these men in Gen Z's fashion media focusing primarily on men (GQ, Esquire) and create a digital filter that helps people scan the figurine and learn more.

This way we are able to reach as many young men as possible alongside with a wider audience of older men and women.

Describe the execution

The prototype library will be sent for free to all the favourite Gen Z brands (e.g. UNIQLO, Balenciaga, Supreme, Zara, Hollister, Gucci, etc.).

We will also use the power of well-known media Esquire + GQ and their social media profiles.

Last but not least, we ask men across the globe to share their own stories with us so we can continually update the library until we truly represent the entire spectrum.
