Background

With the climate crisis already impacting communities globally, we need to talk about solutions more than ever. However, the conversation has been hijacked by Big Oil and Gas, and grim media reports that paint a truly dark picture of our future, leaving no room for hope.

Because of all this people feel scared, confused and powerless. 89% want more climate measures from their leaders. At the same time, 74% of people feel like elected officials don’t care what they think. In other words, they feel like they don’t have a voice.

It's time for Project Dandelion to start a cultural shift so that the voice of the people finally reaches the ears of our leaders.

Describe the creative idea

With the help of AI, Project Dandelion will literally make world leaders hear the voice of the people.

Here’s how it works:

We create a landing page where people from all over the world can record themselves reading a speech - the manifesto of the Dandelions.

We use AI to merge all these voices into one single voice: The Voice of the Dandelions.

We then use the final product – an actual "voice of the people" – to give the same speech at COP30, urging world leaders to take action against the climate crises while the whole world is watching.

Describe the strategy

Our main target are the digital noisemakers – people who know their way around the Internet and want to use it to make a difference. That’s why we empower them by providing an unprecedented kind of platform that can directly address world leaders.

We popularise the campaign with the help of several global female celebrities, known for their climate activism.

In this way, using a technology only available in the digital space, we create a new expression of global unity, aimed at a shared goal: pressure world leaders to solve the climate crises.

That's how we give people a way into a global community of Dandelions fighting for the same cause. And make them part of a historic moment in which people leverage technology to hold their leaders accountable on an unprecedented scale.

Describe the execution

We launch a landing page with instructions on recording your voice and explaining the campaign's purpose. The page includes the speech transcript and a record button. After you’re done recording, a share button appears so you can put it on your socials and attract other Dandelions. We’ll also share real stories of front-line defenders affected by climate change to remind people why it’s important to contribute.

To generate buzz before COP30, we engage celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson, and Jane Fonda along with local influencers. They post Instagram Reels of themselves recording their voice and discussing the campaign. We also expect significant earned media.

The Dandelion symbol is prominent throughout the campaign – from the record button on the landing page and the campaign logo to the pins worn by influencers.

Our main goal: record 1,000,000 voices to merge into the Voice of the Dandelions.
