Execution

“3,300-dollar Box of Chocolates”

In Japan, for years, a three-story box has been used for very special gifts and celebrations. We adopted this tradition and created the highest-class, highest-priced chocolate gift box in Japan. A three-story ceramic box filled with special edition “hi-crown” chocolate. The box was made and hand painted by famous craftsman of Saga’s Arita Porcelain. On the outside Tokyo Station was painted, while on the inside each story has it’s own unique design. The clock on the box points to 3 o’clock, time for afternoon treats. On the inside of the top, an eagle holding rice, a symbol of good luck, represents the beginning of Japan. On each story, “Sho-chiku-bai” or Pine, Bamboo, Plum is painted, a combination of good luck.

Outcome

This box gained huge PR equivalent to $800,000 for it’s unique concept and craft.

Hi-crown chocolate sold out in just a few days. Even the box itself got 10 orders!
