OVERVIEW

Description

Cine Colombia's travelling film project, Ruta 90 has been implemented through a convoy, consisting of two large trucks equipped with giant inflatable screens, Digital sound sistems and portable chairs. We have secured the support from all three branches of the Colombian armed forces so that we have been able to help people in even the still dangerous 'red' areas of the country. Audiences gather on the river banks and shorelines to watch the films.

Execution

Ruta 90 has been implemented through a convoy, consisting of 2 large trucks equipped with giant inflatable screens, Digital sound sistems and chairs. Municipalities provide the company with an outdoor space to screen the movies. Alliances with the colombian armedforces where made in order to reach the most isolated communities, having secured the support from all three branches so that we have been able to help people in even the still dangerous 'red' areas of the country. They has given Ruta 90 volunteers security on the ground, while Navy has taken our giant screens along remote rivers, including the Amazon, and to communities along the Pacific Coast. Logistically the company designed a route that was achievable via roads, rivers and oceans. We have travelled 13,400 Miles and reached 205,000 people in 105 municipalities, through 205 movie screenings, bringing the joy of cinema to people who had never experienced it before.

Outcome

The Cine Colombia Ruta 90 convoy went over mountains and through deep jungle, at times passing through areas that experienced some of the worst fighting of Colombia's 53-year internal war.

So far we've reached 105 municipalities but we won't rest until we've accessed every one of the 1,100 that have no cinema of their own. It's a way of bringing hope and inclusivity to the whole of Colombia when we are still in the early stages of recovery from 53 years of civil war, which ended with a peace deal 18 months ago.

9 points of improvement in the NPS (Net Promoter Score). Went up from 51 to 60. Which means people are more satisfied with the brand and will better recommend it to family and friends.

However by far the best result achieved was not just that Ruta 90 brought to these communities the happiness and laughter that comes with the shared experience of big screen family entertainment... The project also offered people living in isolated and deprived circumstances a way out of poverty; it showed an alternative form of entertainment to alcohol and drugs, and it opened their eyes and imaginations to a wider world of new opportunities. It broadens their horizons, gives them new hopes and dreams, and offers a platform that can educate and put them in closer contact with the wider world.
