Our task was to translate “Remember the Why” into a concept that captures the spirit and ethos of Adidas’ relationship with basketball. We wanted to create a moment in culture, not just another ad. We drew on our experience growing up in Maryland playing basketball. The greatest challenge was making something that was essentially arthouse into content that conveyed the commercial message.

Our solution was to bring as ourselves and our authenticity to the project. The project demanded we be honest with our audience. While the brand is very much part of the story, it doesn't drive the narrative, so we wanted the product to feel like a natural part of the world we were showcasing. This became an organic interplay between the brand and content that feels authentic and not forced.

Remember The Why is a commercial for Adidas which follows a young, successful athlete as they move throughout their hometown. The athlete is surrounded by people trying to get close to his success. Ultimately, the athlete makes his way to a basketball court where it's just him and the ball. No distractions. The message is underscored here, as our athlete is prompted to get back to the Why. Through stunning visuals and an uplifting soundtrack, the Remember the Why commercial for Adidas is a reminder that when we stay true to ourselves and our dreams, anything is possible.
