OVERVIEW

Description

Crusaid: “Catch”. To mark World Aids Day, Crusaid used the illusion of a computer virus to underline the ominous situation faced by people suffering from HIV/AIDS infection. People received emails from someone they knew and trusted. Attached was an 'interesting' file which they were urged to open. When people clicked on this, it seemed as if their computer was being taken over by a virus. Unlike the HIV/AIDS virus though, this one soon went away and people were taken to a Crusaid landing page where they had the opportunity to go on to the Crusaid site, make donations and send the email on to a friend. On World Aids day, there were 16 times as many donations as in the previous year.
