Description
Amnesty International decided to show to the Polish public what freedom of speech looks like in Belarus. To achieve that we brought censorship back to life in Poland.
Execution
Censored: the biggest Polish daily and Europe’s 6th largest newspaper “Gazeta Wyborcza “, the second biggest polish newspaper “Rzeczpospolita”, the two most popular polish websites gazeta.pl and onet.pl. The posters presenting the Belarusian opposition activists were attached with a silver tape, the one usually used for gagging. All censored media were released the same day! Each medium presented the headline “This is what freedom of speech looks like in Belarus” and a call to action “Protest on www.amnesty.org.pl”
