Description
The brief was to design an eye catching and ‘Warhol worthy’ invitation for the launch of the biggest Warhol Exhibition to ever leave the US. The invitation was sent to business and social VIPs.The response we wanted from recipients was “This looks like an event not to be missed”. To match the personality of Andy Warhol, the invitation had to be artistic, inviting and vibrant.
Execution
A plain box was sent to invitees. Inside the box was a polaroid camera, along with instructions for the invitee to take a photo of themselves.
When they took the photo, a pre-prepared Andy Warhol style self-portrait of themselves appeared. These portraits were created by the agency and inserted into the cameras before being dispatched.
Outcome
The response rate was a highly successful 80% acceptance to the invitation. Recipients were dazzled so much by the invitation that many now have their photos framed on their desk as a memento.
