A small child is playing with a so-called “shape sorter cube”. He uses his little hands to try and stick the colourful circles, triangles and squares in the same-shaped holes.

The child tries and tries – but fails repeatedly. He finally loses patience, tosses the toy away and begins to cry.

Conclusion:

Give abstract shapes a second chance.
