Description

In the ad, a woman enters the New Peugeot 208 and attempts to explain the sensation of driving it. She narrates the experience as she is discovering it in the moment she talks, correcting herself and making the situation more and more epic at every correction. As she speaks, we see the sensation she is describing, first like diving in a pool, then, like swimming further and further with the same breath, until she arrives at the ocean, and keeps going until she reaches the ruins of the lost city of Atlantis.

When she emerges, we see she is middle of the ocean, with part of a neptune statue coming out of the sea. We go back to the car, where she is enjoying the sensation of driving the most economic car in the country.

Execution

To create the Ocean and the city of Atlantis, a lot of post production was required. All fishes, seaweed, statues and ruins were made in CG specially for the ad, as realistically as possible, following references of ancient greek monuments. To give the rest of the film an equally striking visual, we used CG to recreate the city where the character drives, making it more modern and architectural.

The shooting required 5 different locations: for the opening and closing scenes, for the pool dive, another for filming the transition from pool to ocean and we filmed in ocean itself for the scene where she emerges.

The theme of water also conducts the film as a whole, using wet floors, rain drops and other elements to connect her sensation and the reality of the car scenes.
