Description
We believe the product itself serves as the best medium to promote the autonomous driving experience.
To this end, we created a multi-sensory light installation featuring 400 3D LEDs surrounding the exhibition car.
This interactive autonomous driving experience showcased how the scenery changes according to the user's gaze.
The installation expressed what we conceive to be one of the many pleasures of autonomous driving; more freedom to enjoy the world beyond your window like never before.
Execution
Audi A8 was unveiled for the very first time at Tokyo Motor Show. Audi A8 is the world's first production model to feature level 3 autonomous driving (Audi AI).
We thought that offering a way to virtually experience Audi's autonomous driving technology would serve as the ultimate promotion of the product itself. To this end, we created a lighting installation by surrounding the exhibition car with 400 3D LEDs. We also connected the vehicle's built-in speakers to the network and played background music from the finest speakers to set the scene.
Furthermore, we recreated the Audi AI experience with a 7-metre wide LED monitor, 3000 illuminated clear tubes, speakers set up in the booth, interactive wearable eyewear for guests to virtually experience the vehicle, and a massive turntable that rotated the vehicle itself, all of which came together to create this multi-sensory interactive installation as the main attraction.
