Description
Beyond classical broadcast sponsorship and product placement, branded content is scarce in the Czech Republic. Especially in the digital sphere. Many brands have produced mobile apps, but none follow the principle of actually providing entertainment, or even something functional or useful to their customers.
Execution
Radio uses sound to deliver its message. Christmas trees made from unique sound waves is a relevant way for a radio station to create a seasonal greeting.
Outcome
Initially intended as a greeting for commercial partners, the app found its way quickly into the public domain simply through the ease of sharing, achieving a response rate 820% higher than predicted. Audiotrees were created in the thousands during Christmas 2013, becoming the nation's most popular online Christmas greeting. It was the #1 branded app during the Czech holiday season.
