The Cape Argus Cycle Tour. 109kms of grueling terrain, winds up to 60km/h and 30 000 cyclists, make it the world’s largest (and perhaps toughest) timed cycle race. As official travel sponsor, Avis wanted to maximize brand visibility during the race. But how could one of the smallest sponsors stand out?

By brining all the luxury and comfort of an Avis Chauffeur Drive to the Argus in The Avis Chauffeur Ride – a custom-built buggy and five chauffeur cyclists that took our competition winner from start line to finish line in the lap of luxury.

Outcome

• CTR tripled on display banners

• Titter interaction doubled

• Exposure to over 130,000 spectators and cyclists on race day

• Average Facebook post clicks increased by 8,000

• Average Facebook post reach increased by 300,000

• Unpaid media exposure – daily circulation 250,000
