Execution

In 2011 an unprecedented number of animals were born in the Amsterdam zoo. To communicate this, we used our limited budget to rent ad space in 20 bus shelters and pasted colourful life-size stickers of all the different animals onto them. A playful nod to the farm animal stickers that children used to put on the rear windows of their parents’ cars. All the stickers were removable. On the stickers was an appeal for passersby to take as many as they wanted and plaster them anywhere. We continuously replaced the stickers, creating a literal ‘baby boom’ throughout the city. The Baby Boom campaign for Artis Royal Zoo in Amsterdam. Featuring baby gorillas, young elephants, infant giraffes, tiny sealions, adorable little penguins and newly-hatched parrrots. All of them portrayed life-size, in sticker format, reminiscent of those colourful farm animals your parents used to have on the windows of their car. They were spread throughout Amsterdam by passersby, who could take as many of the removable stickers as they wanted and put them, well, anywhere!
