Execution

Students loath banks and are cynical about the usual wallet or keyring that is given away, or magazine advert in some irrelevant publication so, instead we distributed fridge magnets via campuses to post graduates in student accommodation. On the magnet we had a decal of an opulent fridge interior. This decal provides an optical illusion that makes it appear as if a student's fridge is full of delicacies and expensive items, which stands in stark contrast to the contents of a typical student's fridge. Our message 'get there with Achiever banking' is a perpetual reminder every time they go to their fridges and see the difference between a life of opulence with Achiever and student poverty.

Outcome

An amusing fridge magnet has a much longer life-span and is a conversation piece. For a change the bank was engaging not preaching.Our fridge magnet has a far greater reach as it is viewed by housemates, friends and the assortment of characters that routinely pass through a student digs.
