Description
Every year, Standard Bank hosts the Economic Road Show – an event where their chief economist forecasts the economic climate for the following year. ‘Creative Destruction’ was the term that was to describe the crisis, as no one really knew what was going to come of it. They said that what would emerge from the crisis was the ‘New Normal’.
We were asked to create an AV that would explain ‘Creative Destruction’ in an engaging, entertaining way that would start the Road Show off with a bang. So, we gave examples of Creative Destruction throughout history; from the Industrial revolution, WW1 and 2, through the collapse of the Berlin wall and the rise of consumerism, to September 11, the rise of the petrol price and the collapse of the economy in the ‘global village’.
The AV ends with the message ‘Let’s take you from what was, to what will be’ which was the pay-off-line for the whole campaign and the reason for the road show, itself.
