Description
To warm up the channel, BBC Creative produced 8 idents on Christmas Day using real fans to introduce their favourite programmes to the nation.
Execution
The in-vision continuity takeover opened with corgi owners to introduce the Queen’s speech and closed with Mrs Brown look-alikes to introduce Mrs Brown’s Boys. The take-over was a first in BBC history.
Outcome
The take-over was a success, with audience figures of all 8 programs being in the top 10 and
BBC one’s average audience was higher than any other channel on Christmas Day.
