Description
Starting with four guys from Liverpool on A Hard Days night, to Rubber Soul, through the psychedelic vibes of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club and Yellow Submarine, we were able to bring to life the evolution of the band over the course of four decades, in the process seamlessly incorporating the Google Play Prism logo and identity. This balance between the Beatles and the Google Brand was artfully navigated by combining photography and animation with a bright energetic color palette, giving the film a collage style that felt true to the Beatles changing aesthetic thought their iconic career.
Execution
We worked with Apple records to secure the most iconic images and artwork that spoke to different stages of the Beatles career. We illustrated this artwork, creating bespoke animation, working tirelessly to ensure that all animation matched the Beatles aesthetically across the era’s.
Outcome
The spots, which ran on TV and Youtube in the US and Japan, were coupled with unprecedented global exposure reaching tens of millions of music fans across Google Play Music's products plus owned, social, and retail channels contributing to a large increase in searches for Beatles-related terms as well as a spike in new music subscription trials.
