Description
The Social Pollen Count is a new cross-platform service that lets hayfever sufferers receive and report live ‘pollen alerts’ on a map of the UK.
The crowd sourcing of this information is used to create a street-by-street view of pollen conditions. The service also draws on data from the UK’s national weather service and location based Tweets concerning hayfever. If you’re heading into a high-risk area, the service will also let you know the nearest place you can pick up a pack of Benadryl allergy medicine.
The service has had over 250,000 unique users since the Social Pollen Count launched in 2012 and continues to help sufferers avoid hayfever, rather than just treating it.
